Midterm Review

The midterm will be on 10/27. There will be four main sections: 1) vocabulary, 2) reading comprehension, 3) reading skills, and 4) language for writing. Please review the following pages:

  1. i have a question. what kind of types of question "Language for Writing"? writing to essay format?

  2. There will not be an essay writing section on the midterm. I think you are getting plenty of writing practice with the blogs and formal essays :). The textbook is calling the grammar sections "language for writing" so I am using their terminology here. The grammar questions on the midterm will ask you to identify mistakes and rewrite the sentences correctly.

  3. What about for "reading skills"? What do i have to know for this section?

    1. For the reading skills, just review the tan boxes found on the pages I listed above. In Unit 7, for example, you should be able to answer questions based on a bar graph, and in Unit 6, you should be able to identify which noun the pronouns in a sentence refer to.
